My Art Sketches

Femme Belles - I drew these up last night whilst waiting on an album of mine to upload.. I'm just starting to enjoy drawing again & I'm also enjoying playing around with the basic computer graphics to try and enhance them! Doilies are a recent fad of mine also..how strange. Once upon a time I looked upon them as ridiculously old fashioned..

Before & After: Vintage Chair

Vintage Chair Revamp

This is a chair I found at the side of the road. Thought it had heaps of potential, pulled up, rescued it & I made it fit into the boot of my car! I will supply the After pics soon....Vintage Little Miss

1. Put masking tape around the edges to protect the cane from getting paint on it (front & back)
2. Removed the chair base & then removed the original fabric. 5000 staples later!!!
3. Used the chair base as a template to cut a pattern from the fabric.
4. Paint the chair in leftover paint from the Dresser Makeover (see Before & After: Duchess/Dresser Makeover)

B&A: Vintage Dressing Table

Before & After Vintage Dressing Table

Vintage Dressing Table/Duchess: I purchased this little cutie from ebay a while ago for $25.00. Just started on it this weekend. Very exciting, why who knows as I could seriously be arrested by the fashion police! Sander, Dust Mask, Paint Clothes & Safety Goggles to boot! I began by re-attaching one of the legs, gave it a good sanding all over (inside & out!) & a couple of layers of paint (water based - better for the environment!) Pic's are as follows....

Craft: Salvaged Bit's n Bob's!

Hi there,
I've taken a couple of pics today of some little crafty projects I've thrown myself into lately..Some of the items have been salvaged from skip throwaways & ebay purchases..
I'm a huge fan of recycling and tend to gasp at the idea of throwing anything away! Little munchkin is a chip off the old ahem ... young block & has also started picking up bit's n'bobs on our little outings!! I'll have to start bringing her little trailer along on our walks..
It was a beautiful day today in Brissie and we luckily managed to escape the storm tonight TG..
Ciao for now -Vintage Little Miss

Chandelier: This Vintage little treasure was a bargain @ $9.00 from ebay! Adds a nice finish to the long awaited deck and; it's on a dimmer switch as well, which looks enchanting at night time!

Wall Art-Left & Below: Ikea fabric on wooden salvaged frames I found @ the side of the road! Purchased fabric from Ikea, stapled to the frames, and; sprayed with Scotchguard..I used acrylic paint around the poppy to suit wall opposite.

Damask Pattern: This little gem came with cellophane wrapping on a bunch of flowers a friend of mine sent me. I just used a small scissors & cut around it & placed double sided tape to them and placed as a little feature on the wall.

G'Day!

Hi there, I actually did it..I created my own Blog! Yes I know that sounds a little sad but I am not very technical when it comes to this out of world new age stuff ....slowly but surely getting there.

I've created this blog to motivate and encourage me to start the ball rolling on a number of little DIY projects I would like to do..I'm a shocker of a hoarder....."Must hold on to this, must hold on to that".and of course the good ol convincing statement."I will definately use it for something one day".. However, time of course is of the essense...as I work full time & have a little miss of my own that keeps her mummy & daddy on their toes..we love every second of it..

My plan of action is to get into the groove, and get creative! If I can at least start posting pics & updates from up & coming/ongoing projects this will surely keep keep me motivated! Here's hoping anyway ..Ciao for now, have a lovely weekend x
